Program Development UnitThe Program Development Unit staff provide technical support for a variety of projects within the Surface Water Protection Section of the Division of Water Resources. Professional expertise in aquatic ecosystem structure and function are used to provide data for management decisions, project reviews and approvals, and evaluation of wetland status and trends. Recently completed projects include: Assessing Impacts Due to Small Impoundments in North Carolina: Hydrologic Connectivity, Water Quality Function, and Biocriteria of Coastal Plain Geographically Isolated Wetlands: Current Projects: EPA Approved NC Wetland Program Plan: Monitoring and Assessment 2013-2017
NOTE: In early 2012, the Watershed Assessment Team and Headwater Stream Spatial Dataset programs were transferred to the Transportation Permitting Unit. Please see the TPU web page for more information on these projects.
